The Crandall Chargers opened the 2025 season with a tough test, falling 5–1 to St. Thomas on September 6th at Harrison Trimble High School.

St. Thomas struck early, scoring in the 11th minute to take the lead. Crandall responded well and found the equalizer in the 24th minute, as Jayden Groundwater finished an unassisted chance to level the match at 1–1. The goal marked the Chargers' first of the season.

Momentum shifted late in the first half, as St. Thomas scored three times between the 35th and 42nd minutes to take control heading into the break. The visitors added one more goal in the second half to extend the lead.

Despite the scoreline, Crandall showed flashes of promise in its season opener, generating four shots on goal and continuing to compete throughout the match. The Chargers worked to limit chances after halftime and gained valuable experience against a strong St. Thomas side.

The season opener provided a foundation for growth as Crandall moved forward into the remainder of the schedule.
