Chargers Fall to UNBSJ in Road Contest

The Crandall Chargers dropped a 4–0 decision to UNBSJ on September 27th at CGS, facing a strong home side in a challenging road matchup.

UNBSJ took control early, scoring three times in the opening 18 minutes to build momentum and take a 3–0 lead into halftime. Crandall worked to settle defensively and limit further damage, regrouping after the early surge.

The Chargers tightened up in the second half and held UNBSJ to just one additional goal, which came late in the 88th minute. Despite sustained pressure, Crandall continued to battle and looked to generate chances on the counter.

Goalkeeper Maya Clapperton made four saves in the opening half before Molly Jensen took over in goal for the second half, recording one save as the Chargers worked through heavy pressure. Offensively, Crandall generated four shots, with Jayden Groundwater, Sarah Schurman, Jamie Hicks, and Brianna Killam each registering efforts, three of which were on target.

Defensively, Crandall faced a physical match, as UNBSJ committed 18 fouls, and the Chargers earned multiple corner kick opportunities in the first half. Despite the scoreline, Crandall continued to compete through the final whistle against a strong UNBSJ side.

The Chargers will look to take lessons from the road challenge as they prepare for their next matchup.
