Chargers Fall to Holland, 85–48

The Crandall Chargers were unable to recover from a difficult first half, falling 85–48 to Holland on Saturday afternoon at Crandall University.

Holland took control early, jumping out to a 20–9 lead after the opening quarter. The Chargers struggled to find an offensive rhythm against Holland's defensive pressure, which forced turnovers and limited second-chance opportunities.

The second quarter proved to be the turning point, as Holland outscored Crandall 24–2 to extend the lead to 44–11 at halftime. Despite Crandall's efforts on the defensive end, the Chargers were unable to generate consistent scoring opportunities and went cold from the field during the frame.

Crandall showed resilience coming out of the break, responding with an improved offensive effort in the third quarter. The Chargers outscored Holland 18–24 in the period, highlighted by strong finishes from Kaley Axworthy and Charity Hearn, trimming the deficit heading into the fourth.

The Chargers continued to compete in the final quarter, putting up 19 points, but Holland maintained control and closed out the contest.

Axworthy led Crandall with 12 points on efficient shooting, while Hearn added 10 points and four steals. Ellie Hiltz provided energy off the bench, pulling down six rebounds, and Kaila Smith chipped in on both ends of the floor.

Crandall will look to regroup when they head to Halifax to face MSVU.
