22 Point Night by Devon Glenn Leads Chargers to Victory Over Blue Devils

MONCTON, NB - Crandall Chargers took care of business Saturday afternoon, taking care of the University of King's College (UKC) 78-68.

Missing regular starter Sacha Gauthier (Ottawa, ON) the Chargers leaned on their starters to put up big minutes and for key bench players Marc Hoffer (Moncton, NB) and Daniel Hawkes (Woodstock, NB) to contribute to the game plan.

Opening up the game the Chargers looked to be in full control early on jumping out to a 26-18 lead. UKC would make their adjustments quickly between quarters as they went on a staggering 23-7 point run in the second frame. Ultimately the Chargers were able to settle back into their groove and chip away at the Blue Devils' lead to claim it for themselves and lock down the final minutes of play.

Devon Glenn (Woodstock, VA) was a man on a mission totalling 22 points on the night, coming down with 7 boards and dishing the ball to his teammates for 5 assists.

Tyray Cooper (Baltimore, MD) and James French (Moncton, NB) each tallied 13 points in the contest with French recording his 5th double-double of the season pulling down 11 boards.

Brendan Morris led the Blue Devils with 18 points going 7 of 12 from the field and tied teammate Sandrais Clayton with 8 rebounds to lead UKC.

Clayton and Xavier Buckley were notable standouts for UKC as each player would account for 13 points.

The Chargers are on the road tomorrow afternoon as they head to Fredericton to face off against the STU Tommies. The two teams have met twice already this year with Crandal walking away victorious each time and looking for the season sweep.
