Chargers Come Up Short in Tight Road Battle at Mount Allison
The Crandall Chargers battled through a back-and-forth contest but fell 78–73 to Mount Allison on Saturday afternoon at McCormick Gymnasium.
The game featured 14 lead changes and 10 ties, with neither team leading by more than single digits for most of the afternoon. Crandall held a slim 21–20 advantage after the first quarter, while Mount Allison edged ahead 45–41 at halftime following a strong second-quarter push.
Crandall stayed within striking distance throughout the second half and briefly took the lead late in the fourth quarter after a three-pointer by Ethan Culberson. The game remained tied inside the final two minutes, but Mount Allison capitalized at the free-throw line in the closing moments to seal the win.
Caleb Rennie led the Chargers with 14 points, while Colby McIntosh added 13 points and Luca Del Bosco finished with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Jayden Johnson provided a spark off the bench with 12 points, and Dave Hutton chipped in 6 points and 3 assists.
Crandall shot 43.1 percent from the field and held a 42–34 edge in points in the paint, while also winning the bench scoring battle 35–8. However, Mount Allison's efficiency from three-point range (36.4%) and success at the free-throw line proved decisive down the stretch.
Despite the result, the Chargers showed resilience and depth, competing until the final possession in a tightly contested road matchup.
