Chargers Win In Four Sets Against UKC Blue Devils

MONCTON, NB - The Crandall Chargers Women's Volleyball team end their regular season with a 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 25-16, 25-21) against the visiting UKC Blue Devils.

It was a seniors night to remember as the Chargers honored their graduating Captain, Melora Cook. The gym was rocking and energy was high in this back and fourth match as both teams wore their heart on their sleeves wanting to take momentum into the postseason.

When the Chargers needed it most they turned the league leader in kills, Janelle Blanchette. Blanchette accounted for 17 kills to bring her regular season total to 148, as well as three aces and two solo blocks. Cook added 7 kills, which puts her in second place in the ACAA with 143.

Sarah Maude-Malenfant had a well rounded game with 6 kills on 15 attempts as well as three aces and five digs. Brooke Sterner recorded three solo blocks during the match.

Emma Wilson, the lone graduating senior for the Blue Devils led their team with 10 kills and a trio of aces. Kiana Higuchi made her impact known on both sides of the ball with 8 kills, a pair of aces and 9 defensive digs.

The Chargers have secured a home court match Sunday afternoon in a wildcard matchup against the Universitie Sainte Anne Dragons.
