Chargers Push Mount Saint Vincent to Five Sets in Home Battle
The Crandall Chargers delivered a gritty performance but came up just short in a tightly contested five-set match, falling 3–2 (15–25, 25–19, 25–20, 20–25, 13–15) to Mount Saint Vincent on November 9th at Crandall University.
After dropping the opening set, Crandall responded with strong execution and defensive discipline, taking the second and third sets to seize momentum. Mount Saint Vincent answered in the fourth to force a deciding fifth set, where both teams traded points deep into the frame before the visitors edged ahead late to secure the win.
Charlie Benoit led the Chargers with a match-high 18 kills, adding consistent pressure from the pin throughout the match. Jolie Allain contributed nine kills and four digs, while Hailey Legacy added five kills, three block assists, and steady net play. Emma Visser and Brianna Tingley each made key defensive contributions, with Tingley posting five solo blocks to anchor the middle.
Setter Kallie Woodworth guided the offense with 32 assists, while also contributing defensively at the net. Amy Le Blang anchored the back row with a team-high 16 digs, helping extend rallies and keep Crandall competitive in every set.
Despite the result, the Chargers showed resilience and composure against a strong Mount Saint Vincent side, pushing the match to the final points and continuing to show growth as the season progresses.
The Chargers will look to build on this effort as they prepare for their next matchup.
